View and Interact with Dashboards

Once you have selected a dashboard to view, you can customize the way you view and interact with the dashboard as follows:

Re-size Panes

  1. Move your cursor over either the right side, bottom right corner, or the bottom of a pane to display a double-headed arrow.
  2. Pull and drag the arrow to re-size the pane as desired.

NOTE: Pane sizes are saved relative to the size of the browser.

Reorder Panes

  1. Move your cursor over the title bar of the pane you wish to move. The cursor displays in scroll-mode:
  2. Drag the pane to the desired location.

NOTE: Due to some built-in space restrictions, the Dashboard Viewer may not allow specific dashboard layouts.

Select Panes to Hide or Display

  1. To hide a pane, click the Close button at the top right of a pane.

  1. To redisplay a pane, click the Settings button at the top left of the Dashboard page.

  1. Click the Pick Items button to display the Select Items dialog.

  1. Select the pane(s) you wish to display, or deselect panes you wish to hide. When you are done, click the Close button at the top right of the dialog.

Save and Discard Dashboard Layouts

Changes you make to dashboard layouts in the Dashboard Viewer are automatically saved as your layout. The next time you open a particular dashboard, the layout changes you saved will be restored.

To generate a low resolution preview image for display in the Dashboard Browser, manually save your dashboard changes:

  1. Click the Settings button at the top left of the Dashboard page.

  1. Click the Save Default Layout button.

NOTE: The Edit Dashboard and Save Default Layout buttons are only available to users with Dashboard Builder privileges.

Revert to the Default Layout

You can revert to the default layout saved by the user who built the dashboard.

  1. Click the Settings button at the top left of the Dashboard page.

  1. Click the Reset button.

Export Data in a Grid or Chart

NOTE: Export supports up to 20 million cells. The total number of rows exported will depend on the number of columns in the dataset. For example, 1 million rows for a data set with 20 columns.

Pipes in strings will be replaced with spaces for correct importing in other tools.

You can export data displayed in a Dashboard grid or chart to a file for local download:

  1. Click the Export icon in the top right corner of the grid or chart.

  1. When the Save As dialog box displays, navigate to the local folder where you wish to download the file.
