Action Builder Tab

The Action Builder in Configure provides the ability for administrators to package their own Actions for Automations and Collection Extensions. This capability allows you to build and manage your own Automations and Collection Extensions you can then use with Assist and Prevent to gain full value from Lakeside's automated remediations.

  1. Either create a totally new Action, or use the load existing action link to select and load an Action you can use as a starting point.
  2. Use the appropriate fields to specify a Name, Version, and Description, then select the Supported OS.
  3. Click the + next to Build Files, then browse to and select the files to be included in the Action.
  4. For each file, specify the Command Type, File Type, and whether it runs Async.
  5. You can also optionally specify Parameters and Usage Examples.
  6. When done creating or updating your Action, click Publish Action to make it available for use in Automations or Collection Extensions.

NOTE: If the automation is set for synchronous mode with a maximum value of five minutes, you can reset it to asynchronous mode, which can be set to zero, so it never times out.
